Two opposing forces clash against each other.

Cavalry comes into its own when able to strike hostile forces at will, and from unexpected directions - and nowhere is this more feasible than on open plains. Lightly armoured spear units, however, prefer terrain where there's some cover available.

This report is compiled as of midnight server, Jan 27.
18 Alliances on the leaderboard.
No changes in the top 5.
2,710,677 casualties
About 125K new casualties.
 
At the Northwest flag:
Peace (Rupe) sent 1 army.  Curse reinforced with 8 armies.
 
At the North Flag:
This flag heated up today, Big Time.  26 armies arrived today.  Curse is making a major assault to push Peace off this flag as part of Curse's effort to claim the #2 Overall.  At 12:27, Curse Attacked and cleared the last of Peace armies from the flag and the flag was left unoccupied.  My last scout arrived at 19:45 and Peace had recaptured the flag with 2 troops in Cuzdeath's army from his nearby Capital.  A Peace (Pasi) army arrived just in time to defeat the last Curse army of the day.  I doubt this is over.
 
18 Curse armies arrived today causing 35,028 casualties.  Special mention to Lady AHF's attack causing 10,639 casualties.
 
1 GOON army arrived.
 
7 Peace armies reinforced.
 
At the East Flag:
When we left this flag yesterday, GOON as trying to retake this flag from H?.  GOON achieved this goal, but Curse is also making a push to take this flag.  Again, this is part of Curse's goal of claiming the #2 Overall.
 
Possession changes:
H? => unoccupied
Unoccupied => GOON
GOON => Curse
Curse => GOON
 
13 Curse armies arrived today, as did 15 GOON, and 2 H? armies.
 
At the SE flag:
1 Dlord army challenged VIC, today, along with 4 H? armies and 1 WE (RMY-Sgt.Shanks) army.  I do not know for certain, but I think this is the first appearance of WE in the tourney.
 
At the W flag:
Peace secured victory at the west flag today.  Congratulations to Peace!
 
When we left the West flag on Jan 26 it was held by Peace.  93 armies arrived today.
 
Armies arriving today: 2 0-0; 42 Curse; 14 GOON; 5 H?; 1mCrow; 43 Peace; 1 Sir; and, 3 VIC.

Special note:  This is sad,Cry so please brace yourself.  BecBlue celebrated Australia Day Beer on Jan 26 and she suffered a terrible accident.  It seems that her very nice, white t-shirt made contact with water causing quite a stir on Global Chat.  I know I am having a very hard time getting the image of this outrageous accident out of my mind.
 
Despite this shocking accident I enjoyed Australia Day, too.  Let's face it, on Australia Day everyone is Australian!Hug
 
4 days remain in the tourney.  Curse follows Peace by 4 days, 21 hours.  Curse has made some progress in their quest for #2 Overall.  Time is not on Curse's side and Curse gained only 5 hours against Peace's lead today.  Peace is in dire need of reinforcements at the north flag.  But Curse reached for 4 flags: NW, N, E, and W.  This is coming down to the wire.  For many flags from many players, armies should be marching now to arrive during the tourney.
