Is this game for me?

Nearly every Strategy game I've played I've been farmed / destroyed from the start.

There was one where I started far enough away from older players because of the placement and where I joined a powerful alliance right off where I was doing okay - but it was still nerve racking as people were attacking non stop (there was nothing else to attack but other people) and if you weren't checking the game 10 times a day you weren't going to survive...

I'm not saying they're all bad - but a good percentage of them are pretty harsh :D  This one *could have* been harsh too but somehow the first players that got stronger were good people and have seemed to influence the game as a whole.  People find it more welcoming and find that aggression towards newbies finds you getting attacked by people your own size etc - it just ended up that cooler people here prevailed.

Not to kiss up but it seems to be partly due to the GMs as well.  I've seen Stormcrow in game chatting and stuff and he's been really decent to people.

There obviously are people who wish they could own newbies, as we get thieves on us lol, but in general it's been really awesome and there's a lot more to do here than elsewhere so that you don't get as bored and just have to go after players.

As for the placement - since we can only move once I'm waiting :D  I don't know where I'll end up.  I've been poking around the map and see a lot of rich places full of resources without many people there but you're also pretty far from protection if something does break out unless friends move there too.  I'll definitely move outward later but I need to wait a while to decide where.
