Well, to get factions, we need crafting (Faction trade hubs and whatnot.) And to get crafting, we need trade v2. And to get trade v2, we need pathfinding. And to get pathfinding, we need water units. And to get those, we need factions.

Perennial whinging about 'yet to be released gameplay' is ridiculous.
Of course the devs are trying to get this out. It equals a better game and hence more money.
If they could, they would.
When they can, they will.
Its what they call a mutually beneficial relationship. So lets all withhold on the 'them vs us' attitude eh?

Rill makes a good point. I love some of the Faction descriptions. But I settled a bunch on cities to be close to some cool sounding factions a year ago... then got in some pain and Exodused away... then forgot about the Factions....
So, I plan on being excited when they eventually go live. For now I'll stick with just admiring the cool descriptions :-)
