Two opposing forces clash against each other.

Cavalry comes into its own when able to strike hostile forces at will, and from unexpected directions - and nowhere is this more feasible than on open plains. Lightly armoured spear units, however, prefer terrain where there's some cover available.

Fighting defensively on open plains, cavalry draws strength from the ability to form and reform their lines of engagement depending on the direction of battle, and it is here where cavalry excels.

The IllySPN Thread ~ Stranded for 8 days and still no sign of rescue!

Day 8 (Part One)

Welcome back! Where have you been? Don't forget to wipe your shoes on the mat before you come in. Your dinners in the dog and the dogs in the oven! LOL This is day 8 of the IllySPN coverage for the Harnessing the Elementals Tournament. Todays post is brought to you in association with Danish Bacon Pig... The worlds leading cure for all known hangovers! LOL Here's what happened since last we spoke...

Still leading the way at the top on the leader board with 18 elementals across 4 altars is Iduna [Curse]. Tanis [Curse] made a push yesterday to cut her lead, he currently has 13 binded across two altars. Tied for third are Llyorn of Jaensch [H?] and Gixy [Curse] with 9 each followed just behind by Pasi [WE] for 8. The remainder of the casing pack is lead by Jack Aubrey [Dlord], GODsDestroyer [Sir] and Mandarin31 [VIC] with 7 a piece.

Day 8 was probably the bloodiest day of the tournament yet. The Mal Motsha Wind Alter had over 49k casualties trailed only just behind by its twinned Altar at Keppen with over 48k dead. The Fire Altar at Kal Tirikan had losses totalling over 35k and the Earth Altar in Arran reported over 34k lost souls too.

There were a massive 6 epic battles yesterday with a further 3 nearly classify as well. At Kal Tirkan G0DsDestroyer battled an encounter costing the lives of over 20k troops. In Mal Motsha there we two battles as Jasche [VIC] battled to control the altar and nearly 25k casualties were reported win the two encounters. At the Arran Altar Empress Olivia [H?] kept the grim reaper busy with over 12k fatalities. The final two epic encounters took place at the Keppen Altar with SamuelMarco [Union] fighting three back to back battles to gain control. Over 28k were lost in the first two battles and over 34k dead in total.

Two opposing forces clash against each other.

Cavalry comes into its own when able to strike hostile forces at will, and from unexpected directions - and nowhere is this more feasible than on open plains. Lightly armoured spear units, however, prefer terrain where there's some cover available.

Fighting defensively on open plains, cavalry draws strength from the ability to form and reform their lines of engagement depending on the direction of battle, and it is here where cavalry excels.

Day 7 (Part One)

Welcome back to IllySPN's (delayed) coverage of the Illyriad Harnessing The Elementals Tournament. Today's (delayed) post is brought to you in association with Guinness... Good hangovers come to those that wait! LOL Here's the news and views from day 7.

Iduna [Curse] continues her reign as tournament leader now with 18 elementals binded to her. Trailing behind in joint second are Tanis [Curse], Gixy [Curse] and Llyorn of Jaensch [H?] with 9 elementals each. Pasi [WE] has 8 and leading the remainder of the chasing pack are Jack Aubrey [Dlord] and G0DsDestroyer [Sir] with 7 a piece. First mention for G0Ds in the commentary so I'm now awaiting delivery of beer! LOL

The hottest contested altars in day 7 were Lan Larosh Air Altar with over 23k losses, the Altar of Wind at Keppen with over 21k casualties, and the Altars at Windlost and Mal Motsha both had over 19k reported deaths. 

Only the one epic battle again in day 7 to report as Lussiano [TMOT] battled at the Keppen Altar of Water for control. Nearly 11k troops will fail to return to their cities from that encounter. Dead
