Id rather you didnt. I dont understand the need to praise some players and chastise others in public. If we ever want a gameworld thats dynamic and confrontational, we need to quit this strange urge the community has to impose the same perception on all players.
And yes essentially thats what all of this really is about, the award is just an excuse. Let people make up their own minds about who to support and give out the praise you feel yourself - by message.

Ok Tord . A similar view has been put by Creat to. I would just like to reassure everyone that this idea is not about me. I would happy if someone else ran this and I can think of one or two that easily could.
I am not sure that a Hall of Fame where players of the community are then nominated and voted on by the community is going to confer any celebrity status on anyone. Its not run by the company and don't get any material reward from it. This would not be about ranking or status really. It would be about popular accolades from the gamers community itself. Sounds kind of idealistic doesn't it.
On the other hand if you are right about it imposing the same perception on all players then I might drop it. What do others think?

Thats what they said about television too :S Look where that got us... Look, it has nothing to do with who is running it - Its just a plain bad idea that will have a negative impact on Illy - thats all.

To be honest, I'm with Torden on this. Why turn a perfectly fine game into a popularity contest? As ultimately, that is what this hall of fame would be.
