The uh.. ele's for sure can survive the experience, perhaps send a spy or two with the elemental?
Patience is a virtue, resource giving is a sin

@me is wondering whether Manannan would tell us if he'd discovered anything interesting about the HoC - even if he didn't tell us exactly what, or how. Wink

You have to admit Creature that it is a little curious that a few players recently have posted on the forum
"I just feel like sending 15k basic troops out on a tournament square - please feel free to massacre them at your leisure."

I cant locate the original post where I read it back a while ago, but to my best recollection, SC wrote that the elemental spawn chance is (in some way) relative to the troops killed or some such.
Ergo as you yourself suggest, it is quite likely that not all combinations of elementals and units have been tried, just as there probably havent been anyone who has dared to send more than a few at a time.

What if the heart of corruption was a long standing quest that could only be solved by creating a "large" army of elementals and beat the crap out of it? Whatever rewards it might yield would be interesting - likely an evil spell - corruption of something.
Seems like a perfectly rational straight forward answer to me, but a project that may take a long time to achieve.
Illy at its best.

I think perhaps you are referring to this thread: http://forum.illyriad.co.uk/tourney-squares_topic2335.html

I don't remember anyone else mentioning anything like this on the forum.

If you check the old 'Tournament' link ingame next to the herald and quest buttons you can see who has been sending troops to tourny squares since the tournament though.

someone throw all their troops on a plains tourny square and I'll smash them with my calv army.  If that doesnt work, I don't know what will.

has anyone tried setting up a siege to take down a tendril? maybe we have to cut back the tendrils first, before getting to the heart of the matter (LOL) :P lame pun, i know.

also, is anyone close enough to try a blight? I doubt this one is the key as I'm sure that every player will have a chance to "solve" the HoC mystery.

Lastly, I believe that there is no solution currently. From what has been gathered about the Fortress of Shadows, it seems that one needs some Faction relations to solve. The HoC could just be waiting on some new content for us to have. As for why Elementals are "immune" I would guess that's because they are unique and the dev team didn't want you wasting them on the HoC.

My thoughts...

I'm only a few hours away so I could toss a siege at it just for fun.

Edit: I'll tell you guys what happened in a day and 14 hours.

I'm taking a hint from themaxx....who sent a van to "harvest" and it returned I've noticed that all adjacent sqares to the heart and the heart itself has a "harvest" opiton so I've sent 9 vans total 1 to each square to see if any of them return more than just dissapointed (also someone with an elemental might want to try sending to one of the alters to see if the alters may have an interaction with them.

I sincerely doubt that 'seiging' the tendrils is the answer... for starters there is no 'seige' option for non-player city map squares.

I also doubt that 'harvesting' the HoC is the answer... I expect something a little more intelligent/intricate from the dev team.
