What is the nature of elementals? Do they replenish like ice heart? Run out like npc's? Move around like Underworld?

Elementals are just a type of NPC. When they are killed they leave salts behind which are harvested by skinners.

Is it true that they don't move from their spawn square? I just located a city in elemental territory, attacking and harvesting has been interesting.

Elementals are only found on standing stones tiles, plains squares. they don't travel around. they have no maps.
