As a follow-up to the hard work kodabear and Digioso put in to create the Shine a Light on NF Tournament, the Illyriad development team has decided to honor their work and promote NF awareness and research by accepting donations of Illyriad game prestige. They will convert the prestige to a monetary donation to NF research. The developers will also be adding their own donation. Funds will be donated to the Children's Tumor Foundation http://www.ctf.org/
How this will work: 1) Players can donate by sending prestige items (scraps, parchments, pages, scrolls, codices, books or tomes) to GM Rikoo's city of Rikooville by midnight (end of day) June 30, 2016. Anything en route by midnight of that day will be counted as a donation. 2) Illyriad will convert the prestige to cash at 3 U.S. cents per prestige point. 3) The Illyriad developers will then add their own donation 4) Illyriad Ltd. will make a donation to the Children's Tumor Foundation and provide documentation (screenshots) indicating the total donation. Prestige items require certain rare resources to construct. If this is a barrier for anyone who wishes to donate prestige, contact Rill in game, and I will arrange for you to receive the items you need at no charge. (This offer only available for people constructing prestige items for donation to this fund.) A big thank you to the developers for being willing to donate, and to all players who make donations. And especially thank you to kodabear and Digioso both for creating the tournament and for bringing attention to Neurofibromatosis. If you have any questions, please post them in this thread or contact me in game.

In case anyone has any questions about the Children's Tumor Foundation as a charity, here's a link to their profile on Charity Navigator -- they get top marks for accountability and transparency, as well as for spending the money they receive directly on programs. They don't have that big a budget, so anything we can give will help.

Hearty and massive congratulations to kodabear and digioso for successfully running this tournament and seeing it through to the end. Massive kudos to you both. Thanks also to Rill for organising this donation drive. In case anyone else is wondering (I've been asked ingame by igm) then yes, this is legitimate, and we will be converting prestige GM Rikoo is sent (details as specified in the OP above) back into cash for donation to Kodabear's chosen CTF charity. I think that you either want to donate to NF/Children's Tumor Foundation, or you don't. Donating money to NF via us won't influence the course of Illyriad's development, though it may assist with improving the health and well-being of individuals and families affected by NF1, NF2 and Schwannomatosis. If you feel that it's a worthy cause to send money towards then please feel free to do so, either via us, or directly to them yourself, or not at all: that's your choice. However, tying the future development of the game to your willingness (or not) to philanthropically donate to a worthy cause does a disservice to both Illy and the cause itself. Regards, SC
