Two opposing forces clash against each other.
Bowmen hate it - and even cavalry units have difficulty moving purposefully to attack forested terrain. This is, however, the natural provenance of the footsoldier who excels.
Suffering the same problems as attackers, defending cavalry and ranged units intensely dislike fighting in forested lands. Like the attackers, however, the extra cover and confined spaces is favourite amongst defending swordsmen.

I've only hunted Cobras once and i didn't get anything either. Different NPCs have wildly differing drop rates so this is probably the norm.
If you want to see the drop rates I've found so far: https://illystuff.uk//npcDrops/index.html

Cobras, Saurians, and Coral Snakes are notoriously stingy on their drops.

They are indeed BrianN.

While I've got the data for a few Saurian and Coral Snake battles I only ever found one Cobra camp that I could attack and that gave nothing whatsoever. There are also other NPCs that I've never managed to hunt (Alligators for one) so have no data for at all. You can see all the data I've collected at the link above.
