Any advice on picking a region or biome?

   It will be a long while before I can exodus my first city but I figure I might as well start reading and learning now. I've seen plenty of guides/advice on how to pick a specific square to build the city on, but I feel like that's jumping ahead in the process.
I'm wondering if there's any advice out there for picking a general region or a biome? I've heard some people mention land claims and moving close to your alliance but I was wondering if there might be some regions or biomes that are well suited for specific play styles. Maybe some areas have rare NPC spawns that are good for hunting? Or places that are a hotbed for trading or warfare? Places that are less active for a more independent/soloist play style? etc..etc...

	On the hunting side of things you can see where the different NPCs are likely to be found at https://illystuff.uk//npcmap/index.html You can also get a breakdown of what terrains & combat terrains make up each region along with a listing of the NPCs and counts of the rare res and race populations for each region at: https://illystuff.uk//regions/index.html Note: It takes a bit for it to get the terrain info.
