On Mogul's list -- the link suggested by GNU -- you can see that it is not yet used for anything. If you have way too much sell to collectors. Some folks including me try to have some of everything, unless it is related to dead rats.

I'm hoping that one of the herbs will increase fertility -- resulting in a massive population increase in my towns .....

Great read!
Now the big question is if herbs/silverthorn aren't used for regular crafting, and only used about once a month, what are they used for???
Magical fortifications? Boosting stats ? Reducing timers?

Killing pain and their affects last about 3 or 4 days. Or maybe just a boost to mana production if used on the full moon.

If you really optimise a city for one specific field, without indulging in anything else, then you can very easily have plenty of spare plots. Heck, even a human T2 cav city only needs 8 buildings at a minimum, and you only really want 3 cav parade grounds at the absolute maximum- so that's 11 plots out of 23. If you really specialise a city then you should have no problem finding spare plots.

From the blog: or you might become your Alliance’s supplierThis suggests that not everyone in an alliance has to tear down some existing building to make room for a herbalist if they designate someone in the Alliance to be their herb supplier . Might be a good job for newbies in an alliance (depending on the research requirements). Since we are not told what these herbs will be used for and they won't be used very often anyways, it suggests only one supplier is needed.

I was expecting a number of resources to be limited to certain regions, whilst a number of others would be limited to certain terrains, for example certain herbs only available in the jungle, iceheart (or whatever its called) only available in the frozen areas etc.
