This seems like it would be great for things like new players building toward exodus or alliances that want to help players who are being sieged.
On the downside, it seems like one potential problem will be people serially creating alts to donate to an alliance prestige pool and then use for their own gain.
Example:
Player A creates Account A. Account A is set up as an account at the lead of an alliance. Player A creates Account B, joins the alliance, donates free prestige and immediately suspends the account. Player A creates Account C, joins the alliance, donates free prestige and suspends the account. Etc., etc.
If done by a single player, this could create the accumulation of a sizable pool of prestige. If the player sets up accounts for "family members" as well, then it gets bigger.
Not sure what the solution for this is, but it's a problem that should be addressed before the release of this feature.
I'm not sure how I feel about the general idea of donating prestige to an alliance pool. Seems like it has the potential to create pressure within alliances to donate (although goodness knows there's an irrational opposition among many Illyrians even to the idea of an alliance tax, which is almost undetectable).
Maybe all of these concerns I described could be addressed by having an upper limit on allowable withdrawals by a specific individual, such as 25 per day (with the alliance having freedom to set lower limits as well).
I dunno, seems like "big headache, small benefit."
The concept of alliance medals being "purchased" with prestige is also an interesting one. I guess it's good to have more creative ways to use prestige.
