Although not a member of one of the major alliances i do often look at their size and dream that my humble little state could be that size......
BUT what really interests me is if there have been any of the major alliances that have faced a split from within, two factions begin in fighting and the alliance members have to take two sides...one member feels they have become powerful enough to rule the alliance and trys to take control militarily....

Has Illyriad seen a War of the Roses style scenario?

Surely if something like this happened it would lead to the most incredibly of war situations and the new herald battle updates would have some truly impressive news to report...maybe details of the split would be published??

Anyway, i was just wondering cause it was an interesting thought??

Well, as the lovable dictator of Illyriad I agree it would be interesting - provided both factions accept my rule I'm happy. Smile

I believe DA split twice already?
They were the number 2 alliance in the beginning.

DA was never a serious alliance.

Splits tend to come about not by some form of conscientious self-sabotage, though there are exceptions (diggIK's war in Inselkampf of the prime-numbered oceans vs non-primes Tongue).  Splits are generally caused by poor/absent leadership, unmanaged social diversity, or similar causes of internal conflict.

You are just trying to stir up trouble wuzzy woo woo.

Invictus IS a strong alliance (who we feel very close to), and HM was not implying otherwise...

You have far greater subtlety than Diablito, but those consistent undertones of "Harmless is bragging/insulting someone" are not an unnoticed pattern, Wuzzel.  You want us to look arrogant, and it particularly shows when you ask pointless questions with obvious answers.  Then, after I respond, you can accuse me of taking the thread off-topic.  (aren't you ever proper Wink)
