Topic: Faction Lore CharactersPosted: 24 Oct 2024 at 16:11 |
|
I am starting this Topic as a place to post the content from social media posts that we're making about characters from the Faction Lore. These brief summaries describe a range of different characters from the lore, including (but not limited to):
All of the summaries below are derived from much more detailed profiles that have yet to be published, but will be at a later time. In the meantime, let these brief summaries serve as references for Faction characters. I'd ask you to please not comment in this Topic thread (and I might turn comments off), just so that it is easy for players to easily scroll through the content. Thank you!

![]() Jeef Cumberstone is the closest thing that the Outlaws get to an ambassador and spokesperson. Among the rif-raf in the city of Cask, his official title is "Puller of the Short Straw," since no one wanted the job of being the diplomat for a Faction made up of Illyria's motley crew of scum and villainy. In spite of his resentment toward the role, Cumberstone is actually pretty good at it; he epitomizes the dark and opportunistic nature of the Outlaws faction. His ability to combine charm with ruthlessness makes him a formidable diplomat, always ready to exploit any situation for the benefit of his band of bandits.

![]() Kheldon Runestaff, the famed "Warrior-Mage" of Illyria, was well-traveled, bringing him face-to-face with various monsters, which he meticulously cataloged in his book, "The Monstrous Races of Illyria." You can read about his encounters on the profile pages of the Arakvar, Harpies, and Daedalons.
Runestaff was also the first to disclose his possession of the famed Helios Halberd: A weapon of immense power, rumored to contain a shard of life itself. The whereabouts of the Helios Halberd is not currently known, but elven archmages of several of the elven Factions note that the item still exists in the world, as they have sensed its magical presence. This is an image of the Helios Halberd: ![]() |

![]() The staff that she is holding in the image above is the Staff of Lúthieniel, a legendary artifact passed down through elven generations, originating from the esteemed healer Lúthieniel, who lived during the Age of Stars. Imbued with her essence, this staff has become a symbol of healing and protection. In recognition of her unparalleled contributions to healing and care, the staff was given to Llanawi Puresoul, the Chief Physician of the Office for Cleansing in the Argiri's Halls of Care, in the Second Age.
The staff amplifies the healing abilities of its bearer, allowing them to mend wounds and cure ailments with extraordinary efficacy. Additionally, it provides a protective aura against dark forces, enabling healers to dispel dark magic and protect themselves and others from malevolent influences. |

![]() Known as "The Valiant," Captain Eadric is the most famous living officer in the Duchy of Keppen's military service. Even though the Duchy's immediate neighbor to the east are the fun-loving Keppers of Golden Fields, the Æthelscir still guards against interloping invaders on the other side of the mountains. The Halflings rely greatly on Eadric's command of the tower and the protection that his forces provide.

![]() The description of the elven flets of Ailindale is written by the elven scribe Eldarion the Chronicler, Keeper of the Elven Histories. While it is not precisely known which elven Faction Eldarion is from, most assume that he was born in Dolunhill, one of the trade hubs of The Tears Eternal, given his knowledge of the elven flets of Ailindale. However, Dolunhill is also known as a refuge for those in mourning, with many elves from The College of Silence traveling there when loved ones pass on to the next world. Some scholars believe that Eldarion may have been born and raised around The Hall of Reflection and eventually traveled to Dolunhill with his family, eventually settling in Ailindale.

![]() What do we know about Zeliana Maesworth, Chronicler of the Order of the Lantern? Not much. Her race and origins are unclear, but Historians speculate that she may have been an Argirian elf or a traveling human (her last name suggests the latter). Zeliana's life was marked by extensive travels across the lands, where she encountered various cultures and factions. Her journeys took her to the revered mountain watch tower of Koranthika, where she documented the lives and duties of its inhabitants.
Zeliana's chronicles are the only surviving accounts of the Order of the Lantern. Her writings detail the clandestine group as being associated with Kanchalkans. Known in their language as Dipasamgha Pradipasamgha, the group is largely shrouded in mystery and revered for their sacred duty to maintain the beacon at the tower of Koranthika.

![]() Isiriana Elissede's journey to Stormstone was not merely to chronicle Tenaril from afar -- she sought to meet the legendary enchanter face to face. Daring to step inside Stormstone, Isiriana found herself in a vast chamber, its walls inscribed with golden runes that glistened in the faint light. At the center of the room stood Tenaril, his form illuminated by a magical light that seemed to emanate from within him and illuminate the very stones of the tower.
Tenaril, a figure of both Elven and Human legend, appeared ageless, his presence commanding yet serene. As Isiriana watched, the light around him intensified, casting intricate patterns across the chamber's walls. The enchanter's eyes met hers, and in that moment, Isiriana felt a profound connection, as if the wisdom of ages was being imparted to her. Though no words were spoken, the encounter left an indelible mark on her soul, a testament to the power and mystery of Tenaril and the ancient magics of Stormstone. ![]() Isiriana Elissede also befriended and collaborated with Zeliana Maesworth in chronicling the Kanchalkan tower of Koranthika and its Order of the Lantern. ![]() |

![]() Sister Ilsa Engladottir was born into a humble human family in the northern reaches of Elgea. From a young age, she displayed a keen intellect and a deep curiosity about the world around her. Her parents, recognizing her potential, sent her to study at the Order of Allembine. Sister Ilsa's work brought her into contact with various factions, including the Nordlanders and the Council of Illyria. Her writings on the history of the North were instrumental in fostering understanding and cooperation between these groups. She was also known to have engaged in diplomatic discussions with the Lords of the West on behalf of the Order of Allembine, using her keen observation skills to navigate their complex web of alliances and rivalries. In her later years, Sister Ilsa returned to the Order of Allembine, where she continued her scholarly pursuits, settling in the Order’s city of Orelys. Her work, "A History of the North," remains a seminal text for historians and scholars alike. Edited by GM Jejune - 24 Oct 2024 at 17:54 |
