Audrey Quest 2023 - She's Awake!

   Audrey is awake! Thank you so much to everyone who fed her. Woohoo! We woke her up twice in one year! 

There are 2 different things going on ...
Some players are attempting the quest
Everyone can try to get corrupted tentacles

Players attempting the quest:
Be on the lookout for another visit from the old crone, and she will say, "the horror has stirred ..."
No visit = a failed quest attempt
If the old crone visits, then we were successful so far and need to prepare to defend quest cities on the next new moon, after Audrey stops beating.
If players did not yet reach Duraz Karag, they will have to wait for the next attempt.

Players who want to get corrupted tentacles:
Send any type of units (military, diplo, trade) to any of the 3 temples that become activated while Audrey is beating - Temple of the Nameless, Temple of the Shapeless, and Temple of the Outsider.
All units will become corrupted and return to the city that sent them and attack it.
The easiest way to send is to use the links on this site: http://www.apsed.fr/fortune-tellers
The drop ratio is 5% and is the same whether you send 1000 units or 1 unit, so it is better to send 1 diplo at a time. The attacks will be small and the chances of getting a corrupted tentacle is still 5%.
Basic scouts and spies are the most cost effective diplo unit to send, but messengers are the fastest.
Can use pres to speed vans, rebuild more vans, and repeat.Audrey usually beats for 3 weeks.

	I'm so excited by Audrey waking up that I'm forgetting stuff. Audrey will be awake for 3 weeks. And the next new moon is January 11. We might not know if we're progressing with the quest until the last day she is awake. That leaves 6 days to get armies in place before the new moon. Check your army travel times, and maybe send early. Surround your quest city with armies on all 8 squares. Occupy the 2nd ring if possible. Some players are building vaults. Some players are building thieves in the quest city/sending them from other towns. We do not know what we have to do. We know they failed in 2014, and they didn't not have armies surrounding towns, didn't have vaults and didn't have defensive thieves. We have to do more than what they did because they failed to protect the corrupted tentacles.

	Audrey stopped beating on Jan 3. I have not heard from anyone about getting a visit from the old crone saying "the horror has stirred." I did not get it. It's over. We failed again. We have to figure out what we are doing wrong before trying again. All ideas are welcome. Post here, send an IGM, or post on slack or DM me on slack. This is not over. But I gave my best idea already and it didn't work. I need all of ya'all to give some input and help figure this out.

	Let's wait for the next Moons (New/Full)! In the last events of penultime steps, I witnessed, tentacles escapes happened when Audrey had ceased beating. So I'd suggest preparing cities with DK visits acknowledged, and brace up in-town defenses (armies and diplos), as well as building 1 or 2 rings of occupying forces (troops, obviously, perhaps diplos too?) so that potential escaping tentacles would be pushed further away. Any advice, lore, history about the riddle are most welcome! (btw, Happy New Year, Illly friends.)

	New Moon is on! I didn't get any message hinting at Tentacles Escapes. has anybody got a warning? if not, let's keep watching till next Full Moon (probably the irrational climax, apt to unlock some action?) Meanwhile, I'd suggest to let Audrey idle, till the next Full Moon. At the moment, Audrey controls only its basic territory, 9sq. Let's see if she attempts to leverage 'captured' tentacles on next Full Moon, without feeding her too early. btw, could it be an idea to try and set a ring of 12 occupying armies, outside of the 9 core tiles? 	Around the actual Heart of Corruption instead of our own town? Try and block it's expansion there?

	Hopper is talking about surrounding cities for the defense part. But if no one got the "horror has stirred" message while Audrey was awake, then it's over. We failed. Again.

	Hey all, is there a more comprehensive guide to this quest somewhere? I might be interested in giving my 2 cents on all this, but the opening post leaves too many questions for me to even start asking them. Is there some document for people who have zero knowledge of the quest and all the things that have already been tried?
