Stranger than strange, from looking at the desert one can claim an oasis, but every were else there is water surrounded by land like a lake you can not, seems strange that one can code for oasis but not for lake. Let me guess, no fishing in an oasis.

In my country wise men say:

The promise is for a mad man rejoicing.

There is a justification, which often used by those who lead this game and those who are in this game more or less the way around, and that justification is:

Free to play!

290 players playing for free just now

A few folks here seem to be missing the fact that illy has more than one developer. Now, why would that be? Could it be possible that each one has a different task?

Maybe one to handle the business end, one to handle the players, one to handle the graphics, and one to code the game mechanics... Could that explain why YOUR desire wasn't done first?

Illy has been around for a while. So, I don't think incompetence is to blame. Or a poor business model. They hate you. That must be it!

Also, I love how folks complain about a 'waste of time'...
...in an online video game! LOL

This is not a commercial game model and whilst it covers its cash costs, there are limited funds for development.  New stuff comes around once in a blue moon.  Though, to be fair, they have been better of late and the last bug fix grab bag took care of a number of important problems.  Illyriad won't set the world on fire (yet) but if it does develop into a more fully fledged world, it might do.

FYI: Counter claiming sov was a fairly useful tool for warfare.

Never rely or hearsay or rumour. Play the game as it currently is, not as it might be someday.

Well, seems like I hear they are considering not releasing it at all which means there are a lot of people who just wasted their time. I have found that when people consider not doing some thing it doesn't get done. Also, just my opinion here but some one needs a tell em perfection is a myth. The alliance I'm in was told that sov on lakes was coming and a lot settled by lakes and locks counting on there use. Guess we got told and believed the wrong person. At any rate with the time spent building and time it takes to move again and then rebuild there will be a lot of people who get discouraged and just quit. As for counter claiming, I wonder how many ever bothered to try it. OH well.
