They are working on setting up sovereignty for lakes, along with turning counter-claiming sovereignty back on.  I think they may also be addressing some bugs in the sovereignty code.  Sometimes the perfect can be the enemy of the good in these things.  Or the bugfixes could be the enemy of releasing at all.

The devs are sort of in a catch 22, because if they release lake sov without fixing counterclaiming or some of the other sov bugs, people will probably complain loudly.  Some people might think it is worth it anyway, other people might disagree.

Lets see if I got this right, we get pretty cities, changes in trade, pictures of cities in members list but when it comes to being fair and equill  A city and be in the middle of the ocean and can set up sov fishing for food but not on lakes.  Whats wrong with this picture. I think I read some were that some one was working on setting up sov for fishing lakes. Instead we get hey your cities can look real pretty is you pay for it, whats up with that? Ya I know It's a bit of a rant.

It will happen.  We just don't know when.  Could be next month, could be a year from now.  I am kind of hoping for sometime in the next six months.

Claiming sovereignty for lakes and lochs is in the works.  They are planning to release it when it is ready.  Until then, you cannot occupy or claim sovereignty on lakes and lochs.

There is no time estimate on when we will be able to claim sovereignty on lakes and lochs -- but that is one of the next things on their list.

I may have misunderstood but I thought the lakes as well as tidal waters and rivers were going to be open for fishing. Many of them show high food content and cannot be harvested..and in fact you cant even claim sovereignty on the lakes.....Why not?
Just another wrench in the works..
