Yeasterday morning, frewold [Frost] awoke to a series of messages in his inbox:

> Dearyth belonging to Lorre ready to fall!

was swiftly followed by a

>Victorious defense...

and a

> Failed defense...
plus
> Army... destroyed.

The second attack was big enough to put its instigator, Blood Pool, on top of the daily battles listing.

So, the David versus Goliath effort [Lords of Frost at #73, The Crows at #5] comes to an end.

The Frosty David had his chance - one hour in which we could have won - and we blew it. The 50,000 Crow troops that promptly camped outside Dearyth are obviously beyond our ability to defeat.

So:
  • A round of applause to the guys in Frost who came so close,
  • A big thank you to our Confeds in Absa for their support (since half the troops in frewold's siege camp were theirs), and
  • Congratulations to Crows.

We bow to the superior force.

Hummmm - looking at the new list of incoming armies, I would up the number.  I was only reporting on the very first army that another alliance had joined in the fun.  (^_^)

I enjoyed the Frost/Absa run in the game. Lots of good experience, much appreciated. Thanks again to everyone who got this game running and made it a fun contest.
