(^_^)  You are very welcome.  I like how there is always something new to be learned in this game.

I have done this tactic only once before.  I sent three sieges to a city.  The first had to lower the population to _____ to capture it - and with two other sieges on it, it hastened this process.  The second siege sent the killing blow to reach the population for the first siege to storm the city - and thus I razed the city quickly and efficiently with the first siege.

This method is advantageous if the opponent fails to notice which siege hit first and sends an attack to siege two or three.  Siege one should always be the primary target as it is the one which will sooner be able to storm and capture/raze the city.

Thanks SS!! This was new information for me. Smile

I was under the impression that multiple sieges or extra attacks would not aid capturing of a city. Can anyone with good knowledge explain this?

If i start a siege camp against a 10K pop city, does the camp has to bring down 7500 pop by itself to capture the city? Or will the city be available if the population somehow reaches 2500 from other siege camps and single hits?

Ok they did not know that you just loose pop if you lower the population before the bombardment begins... or where so sure of their bombardment beginning that sent attacks anyway.

Neither I nor Lorre has done anything of the sort.  In fact, I was even queuing up research until they were taken so the winner would have greater research unlocked.

As for this city losing population - yes.  There were several single hit attacks from players with siege. Building population was lost for this reason alone.  I would like to think it was to speed up the capture process, as I set up a siege for that very reason as well.  However, I had no idea I would be aiding in the destruction of one of Lorre's cities (~_~).

I've kept a very close watch on Molarion, it was right next to my cities. I'm pretty sure there was not a single siege that made it to bombardment status.

I'm pretty sure that the siege that razed the city was not the first siege to be sent at it.  Details are available on the various siege actions further up in the thread.  Previous sieges were broken by PvP combat.  Nothing particularly mysterious happening here.
