Aranel Lightleaf is a scribe, historian, and lorekeeper of the elven Llwcharion faction in the Broken Lands. While she is lesser-known than other loremasters of Illyria, her chronicles of the Llwcharion detailed in her work, entitled, “Tales from Eldaron Erua: Chronicle of the Starlit Watchtower,” are seminal to the elven race in the Broken Lands.
Descended from a long line of elven lorekeepers, Aranel Lightleaf was born in the desert bastion of Eamon Alar, near the Elven Tower of Eldaron Erua, which rises as a beacon amid the harsh waste left after the Sundering.
Driven by a need to understand and chronicle the endurance of the Llwcharion, Aranel journeyed often between the shifting dunes and the halls of Eldaron Erua, gathering oral accounts and magical relics from the survivors of the Sundering. She ventured into the ruins of once-fertile glades and lost elven outposts, coming face to face with remnants of her people's ancient world. In her youth, Aranel was said to have learned directly from wandering geomancers and the enigmatic desert mystics who meditated near Eamon Alar. These encounters deepened her mastery of desert magics and inspired the poetic style of her chronicles, the most renowned being Tales from Eldaron Erua: Chronicle of the Starlit Watchtower. Through detailed observation and a gift for lyrical prose, she immortalized the rituals, hardships, and quiet triumphs of the Llwcharion.
Lightleaf's original manuscript for "Tales from Eldaron Erua: Chronicle of the Starlit Watchtower" still exists in its original form and is believed to be archived in the annals of the library in Gorwyn.
