I just saw a report of faction troops http://elgea.illyriad.co.uk/#/Alliance/Faction/89 attacking a town. I thought they were only attacking encampments.
Anyone experienced a similar attack?

I have a town in Farshards that gets attacked by crazy dwarves every few days. Quite minor but irritating. They attack encampments as well.

One of my towns got attacked last night by troops from the Free Orc faction.

My player and alliance faction standing with them is +20 and I have traders & resources in the Vduch hub, yet they still attacked.  The town was not the closest to the hub, nor was it my largest or smallest town in the region.

Not a big attack and minimal casualties, however I am curious why they attacked when standings are supposedly 'friendly'.

Two opposing forces clash against each other.

Cavalry comes into its own when able to strike hostile forces at will, and from unexpected directions - and nowhere is this more feasible than on open plains. Lightly armoured spear units, however, prefer terrain where there's some cover available.

Fighting defensively on open plains, cavalry draws strength from the ability to form and reform their lines of engagement depending on the direction of battle, and it is here where cavalry excels.

At exactly the same time as the attack I also got the following report:

An army of the Undead was seen approaching the outskirts of your city, and passed by your defensive wards as though they were not there.

If this was the same group then not sure why 'Undead' as the Free Orc Warrior Chiefs are listed as 'Orc Infantry'

Don't worry about the undead! We are just passing through the neighbourhood.

I'd petition that attack at +20 as it doesn't seem right.

Make a petition and igm GM Rikoo about it. GM Stormcrow has been aware of this bug for a long time, since I made a petition about it ages ago, but the more that people update petitions about it the more instances he will have to look at to work out what's gone wrong.

My guess is that the code thinks we're all human and checks the human faction standing when deciding whether to attack.

We are aware of the issue as we have said before.

I will try and post any update, but if we do not post one it is simply because we have not or can not fix a particular issue yet.

Thanks!

Hey... Why can't factions make mistakes?

How do you mistake the smell of an orc city?
