Didn't we already do that during the teleport?

The list is merely a heads up, somewhere that people can see at a glance if someone is standing in their way.

On the alliance and personal standing Levels i understand what you mean, yes you as a player can be friendly with them and yes your alliance can be unfriendly with them at the same time. But both of those two standing levels are affected by the other.
Alliance standing is the average standing of all the players in that alliance, so you being very friendly with them will increase your alliance's standing with them. Also personal standing is affected by your alliance's, the worse your alliances relationship with that faction the more actively you will have to work to maintain good standing. You would be swimming against the current.

Which brings me to this:
This list was not only intended to provide a heads up, but also to get the different alliances to decide what they are doing and where they are going.
If say for example Tordenkaffen wanted to be friendly with a particular faction, but his alliance had different ideas then you would both be hindering the other, and would not be a cohesive whole as an alliance, Granted that would provide dynamics as you put it.

The many marginal accidents can easily be out-weighed by purposeful action.

Finally, your right, the raffle is still up in the air, we don't know the specifics of whats going to happen, all we know is that very powerful, very profitable, and potentially very dangerous factions are going to be introduced.
I am only suggesting that people give everyone else a heads up on their plans. Look at what happened during the teleport, entire regions were claimed, and in more then  couple of cases people affected didn't know, just as some alliances put up announcements then they can put up announcements again. Here.

If i'm not making sense please just say Big smile

I dont follow what you are saying at all. The factions have AI - yes, in the basic meaning of the word, but also on the "emotional level". In effect, it is in fact possible for me as a player to be on good terms with a faction, even if my alliance as a whole isnt. So I think the "friendly faction" thinking will evolve gradually as alliances approach or repulse factions during the game, however it will be difficult to plan since many little marginal incidents affect the relations over time.
Lets for the sake of argument say that FE attack Faction Hub X whereas I choose to befriend them. Lets for the sake of argument say that I have earned enough favor with Faction hun X to recieve quests from them - these quests will no doubt in one form or another target the Factions enemies, and so you are really revealing your own hand in advance by saying "Im going to stick with these guys no matter what".

The Factions are not implemented for us to make more friends, but rather to give us a reason to annoy each other and create dynamics (fighting) in the game.

How people choose to place their bets in the raffle is best left up to them once they get a better grasp of their options.

Well, there are some Factions that it would be very hard to trade with. For anyone. After all, I doubt many people will support the Undying Flame (I actually did an experiment on this. Thread is in the Caravanserai, under the title 'Call to War.') so they will become quite weak... unless another Faction allies with THEM. Sigurd has many enemies, after all, and some Factions' powers are dependant on him. So, Tenaril might fight alongside the Undying Flame to weaken the Circle of Five.

That might be a bit too deep... but it could work.

Thanks
As i said in chat the value isn't solely in the money, its a valuable training tool, and if someone managed to weaken a faction sufficiently, and kept it weak newbies could use it as a source of exp and or goods.
And like noki suggested with some careful maneuvering it could be possible to set to factions directly at war with each other.

A HOT war, i think it would be. there would be no ifs or buts but proper war.

Bumpety Bump on this, good idea...

Il probably just do a lot of propping up factions and giving alot of marshal aid (cold war joke ;) ) Main objective: will be to recieve maximum output of revenue with least amount of cost= whereby making profit. However unless a faction will be very lucrative, i dont mind stopping whatever aid im giving to that faction if a player has a valid enough reason :)
Once again, Good idea F_E

Well, I claim Council of Illyria as MINE. I shall take them down single handedly.
LOL, JK...
No-one attack the Illyria Trade Council, as a general rule. I think we should have protection over them because they seem to be the best traders.

Talking in GC about the factions, and a bit about who is near which ones and i thought that it would be a good idea to set up a list of which alliances have plans on killing or defending (or just plain old taking advantage of trade deals) with particular Factions

I figure if theres a list a lot less toes will get stepped on, and so that people could have a slightly better idea of who likes who.

I'll keep updating the list unless it flops so I'd like to make a few rules:
This list is just a heads up, not a set-in-stone, THIS-IS-MINE-GET-YOUR-HANDS-OFF list. Its just a heads up so that people know who is on which side.

If you do declare make sure you have alliance approval, be specific do not just say a faction specify which HUBS.

And in the spirit of fair play don't make it an exclusive claim, people can work together to kill one faction, or make it more powerful. Unless your on opposing sides, then you'll haveto sort it our between yourselves.

If you care to, explain why.

EG (and this is not the an endorsed T? view, just an example, chosen because its my neighbor)
T? declare protection for the Turyn evles, specifically those in the Turyin HUB, we wish to protect and nurture this hub to gain a better understanding of the Faction mechanics...

Sorry for rambling
sincerely in hopes that this wont flop   Fateful Ending
