The trick was adding the troops to my excel files, just as I read the battle report ... besides they get auto-deleted if you let that work pile up for days. Cry

That is easy ... I participated in only one siege defense and noone hit that and the only coordinated town defense I was in, it was just me and the person I was reinforcing, so I just made some divisions depending on how many troops where in the town and what kind they were.

Actual Example :

Attackers: Unit: Quantity: Casualties: Survivors:
Commander: knight Knights Knight 1 Damaged for 600, 0 health remains.
Troops: Knights Knights 5437 5437 0
Commander: black knight Knights Knight 1 Damaged for 600, 0 health remains.
Troops: Knights Knights 60 60 0

Defenders: Unit: Quantity: Casualties: Survivors:
Troops: Pikemen Pikemen 1318 219 1099
Commander: tmp1 Pikemen Pikeman 1 Damaged for 16, 584 health remains.
Troops: Pikemen Pikemen 187 32 155
Commander: tmp2 Pikemen Pikeman 1 Damaged for 16, 584 health remains.
Troops: Pikemen Pikemen 187 32 155
Commander: tmp3 Pikemen Pikeman 1 Damaged for 16, 484 health remains.
Troops: Pikemen Pikemen 187 31 156
Troops: Pikemen Pikemen 4703 784 3919
Troops: Pikemen Pikemen 4703 784 3919
Troops: Pikemen Pikemen 3136 523 2613
Troops: Kobold Cohorts Kobold Cohorts 22848 3811 19037
Troops: Kobold Cohorts Kobold Cohorts 1121 187 934
Troops: Kobold Cohorts Kobold Cohorts 1691 282 1409
Troops: Kobold Cohorts Kobold Cohorts 200 34 166
Troops: Kobold Cohorts Kobold Cohorts 200 34 166
Troops: Kobold Cohorts Kobold Cohorts 200 34 166
Troops: Kobold Cohorts Kobold Cohorts 187 32 155
Troops: Kobold Cohorts Kobold Cohorts 8 2 6
Troops: Clan Guardsmen Clan Guardsmen 188 31 157
Troops: Clan Guardsmen Clan Guardsmen 188 31 157
Troops: Clan Guardsmen Clan Guardsmen 1892 315 1577
Commander: Clan guardsman Clan Guardsmen Clan Guardsman 1 Damaged for 16, 84 health remains.
Commander: Clan guardsman in training Clan Guardsmen Clan Guardsman 1 Damaged for 16, 184 health remains.
Commander: Landorth Charioteers Charioteer 1 Damaged for 16, 584 health remains.
Commander: Waeking Knights Knight 1 Damaged for 16, 584 health remains.
Commander: Tarlarion Knights Knight 1 Damaged for 16, 584 health remains.
Commander: Da' Reion Knights Knight 1 Damaged for 16, 584 health remains.
Commander: 3 Wolfriders Wolfrider 1 Damaged for 16, 84 health remains.
Commander: 4 Wolfriders Wolfrider 1 Damaged for 16, 84 health remains.
Commander: 1 Wolfriders Wolfrider 1 Damaged for 16, 84 health remains.
Commander: Wolfrider Wolfriders Wolfrider 1 Damaged for 16, 84 health remains.
Commander: Wolfrider Wolfriders Wolfrider 1 Damaged for 16, 84 health remains.
Commander: Wolfrider Wolfriders Wolfrider 1 Damaged for 16, 384 health remains.

In this case 418759 cavalry defense was orcish and 418209 was mine ... so I split the knights in half Smile

(I was actually doing those calculations when maintaining the data, thank God most times I just sent my pikemen to defend and the player dodged with his actual forces LOL)

As I explain in the beginning, for all practical reasons I will not have any troops worth mentioning for the months to come, so practically for me it is over ... I am still in it, but I do not expect my one exodused city that will survive, to produce anything to change that score or the data I shared in any meaningful way.

Indeed it was. Smile

I shall explain the details in the guide topic (costs, figures, worth and in which cases) though. This will be used just for reference and to keep the guide topic uncluttered from battle reports and many tables of figures.

Found the first bunch of reports. This will be the T2 Spear examples reports reference post and it will be updated to contain only such reports.  (the names of the players will be editted out, we do not want fights in here)

Human T2 Spears vs Elven T2 Cavalry.

Two opposing forces clash against each other.

Cavalry comes into its own when able to strike hostile forces at will, and from unexpected directions - and nowhere is this more feasible than on open plains. Lightly armoured spear units, however, prefer terrain where there's some cover available.

Fighting defensively on open plains, cavalry draws strength from the ability to form and reform their lines of engagement depending on the direction of battle, and it is here where cavalry excels.
