Now this is getting good.  If that is so, does Arnesson have a lvl 20 Mage Tower/Library/Bowyer in this city as well?  That would eliminate some more options.

It's a possibility indeed.  Also mentioned was possibly having to create a certain number of special bows, or at least 1 of every type of bow.

The bow was introduced prior the ability to scavenge equipment.

Or maybe you would have to equip trueshots with bows and send them into combat. The number of troops and bows involved might be significant.The idea would be that the archers would bind a part of their spirit to the bows during warfare and get the discovery thus. Or maybe you even need to scavenge bows after a massive defeat to get the discovery.

Another avenue of thought would be building levels.  Anyone with all bow or all crafting research try having a lvl 20 library and lvl 20 mage guild?  It could be possible that a lvl 20 bowyer is required as well, seeing how the racial sword was unlocked after building the swordsmith.

I agree with the new locations, and possibly the mage tower thing since mana is a requirement for crafting.  I do not agree that it would take all of the trade research as well, since that would require the trade buildings to simply discover a bow recipie and doesn't make much sense.

Elven factions are a good idea, as are new locations possibly on the map.  I can't help but think there must be something, especially given the actual location given in the Dwarven Champion armor description.
