Are you talking about regular research or discoveries?   As regular research can be seen in the research tree, it's not to hard to get those additional swapping of focus done... except for the ludicrious long times it needs to research bows and plates Confused

But...  has anyone tried the workshop specifications already? Or built more than one bowyer (or however it is spelt...)?

Hmm.. specialise in the bowyer, demolish, rebuild, specialise in next bow type, demolish, rebuild etc? It's a long shot, I think there's more merit in the location idea but it's something we could rule out if someone with a level 1 bowyer who has done all the research is happy to try.

I was thinking about trade options. For instance, maybe you have to sell one of each type of bow that you have made.. or it could be random when selling bows. If someone has 1 of each bow made, I'd happily buy them all and ship them back.

I have a hunch this is related to a location or faction within the game. Any Elvish map locations out there?

Anyone with bowyer built and crafting research underway still doing the plain ol' tavern quests?  I know that seems simplistic--but many of us are not "questing" anymore to make room for the new buildings.  Just a simple idea.  (she said hopefully......)

he is referring ot the fact htat if u build for example a bowyer lvl 5 then do all the unlock research then build a swordsmith and do all the unlock research.....u'll have to build the bowyer again cause some swords unlock a new bow research etc etc
I will be SO happy when its all done /me sigh

I think we're looking for an Elven map location...any thoughts?  The Dwarves are looking at Duraz Kurag for their armor; is it possible DK is the "magic location" for all races?

Two factions that are Elven which may hold some clue (and I'm really "stretching it"--nothing is very clear)....

1--Brotherhood of Kerala (trade hub="City of Temples"):  "The experience changed them, emotionally and spiritually, just as the thorns had changed their physical body...." Also interesting, "Dark Elves" are repeatedly mentioned in this description, which could be a clue as to what type of diplomatic units to send should we figure out where to send them.

2--Turyn:  This faction links to Clan Bealegh in "faction standings", Clan Bealegh has a connection to Duraz Kurag.  Which stars Kevin Bacon.  (kidding)  As well, the faction "symbol" features a sword and a BOW.  hmmmmm....

I would love to hear what anyone gleans from those faction descriptions, or if you have another idea or another faction.  I do think we're looking for a map location versus number of recipes complete, bowyer present, etc.

(Although, Temple of Reason requires certain levels--and are we certain that the Temple has only one purpose?  Many of us have felt ToR mystery was not especially worth the effort--is there more to learn there?)

I love the ideas.  I will say that Temple of Reason was my very first thought, and I have sent all manner of diplos and even different configurations of troops there since.  They all came back saying that I am too advanced to learn any more from them.

The factions may be the key, but the trade hubs are not able to be targeted by diplos.  Maybe a keen search of the surrounding areas will yield some more clues.

Few players?

???

So where is mistake in this:

Crafting was released 1. August or maybe 31. July 2012 (http://forum.illyriad.co.uk/31jul12-major-release-crafting_topic3895.html)

And counting together everything under crafting research tree, it needs 195 days and 8 hours to research it all.

195 days since 31. July will pass in about 4 days from now... so how could people have all crafting research done already one month ago?
