In recent days eCrow was the target of a blatant, unprovoked attack by the Roman Empire. RE was very public about their actions, and made no effort to hide their gleeful, but mistaken, belief that eCrow would not be able to adequately respond due to the distance between our two alliances.

To view our response in the proper context it neccecary to understand the pretext used for the Roman attack, and the broader pattern of behavior displayed by the Romans.

It is the belief of the Romans that any interaction with Iron, with whom they are at war, is a gross violation of their interests. From that belief they have been threatening players providing resources, and from that belief they have attacked our member Viper. His alleged crime? Helping another, smaller player capture an inactive, unalligned city by providing engines. A long-standing tradition of aid from veterans to new players. Falsely viewed as aid to Iron (which was in no way involved with, or beneficiary to this aid).

Efforts were made to resolve the issue diplomatically through fair compensation. These efforts were scorned.

It is within this reality that eCrow has decided to formally provide logistical and material support to Iron, for the duration of their war with the Roman Empire. Furthermore, eCrow has contacted its confeds with the request to follow suit. We will support Iron for as long as it takes.
