Disable chat connection?

   Hi all,
We're not going to be altering the script or page call names simply because the word "chat" is blocked by some player's corporate firewalls.

However, in future releases of the scripts it's probably a sensible idea for us to change these to steer away from the word chat, on the off-chance that firewalls use that as an identifier.

Sorry if the current workaround isn't great; I'm sure TC will keep the "chat" identifier in the back of his head for future releases.

	Well, as i told before, one of computers i play, have a proxy that blocks every request having 'chat' word... i did a workaround here, i installed "Adblock Plus" and added a filter to the http://chatuk1.illyriad.co.uk/Chat/Update requests, now it wont refresh anymore, also (as you said) it doesnt update the town information automatically, so i need to open the game in a new tab, then i can see the information updated.. i guess i can play like that =]

	That connection is also used to update the display of your current town information, and is therefore necessary even without chat. The only solution will be to figure out why it is failing and fix that. Since you use Firebug, I presume that means on Firefox, and I have the same combination myself with no problems. That suggests unusual client configuration.

	ok, debugging ur javascript with firebug.. i notice, even with Chat disabled... it keeps sending an unnecessary post request to http://chatuk1.illyriad.co.uk/Chat/Update so i still cant play because this request fails and refresh my page to the "News" page each 2 seconds.. there will be a fix for that?

	I turned it off.. but my browser keeps refreshing the page.. i can only play opening a new tab on every click, so i have 2 seconds before it refreshs again..

	Hey, its possible to disable the chat connection? because from where i am playing its not allowed any connection to url with 'chat' word.. and i notice there is a javascript function trying it every second, receiving a fail msg, and reloading my screen all time, so i cant play... i tried to disable the Illyriad165.js from loading, but the map function also stopped.. =/ can someone help me? thanks in advance..
