An important reason I got hooked in the first place - and that was a while ago - was the regular appearance of devs in global chat, adding details to announcements, answering questions (sometimes) and generally appearing to be friendly, interested and engaged in the community and their game.
It appears to me that for some reason that has changed with time, and last year it drifted towards nothingness. I suspect the devs are misjudging the feelings of the community and are ashamed to admit that their large and shiny new re-make of the game took longer than anticipated. It is my firm belief that with only a trickle of small improvements the feelings would have been much warmer and the drop in users that 2013 has seen would not have been as dramatic, if there at all. And I would go as far as believing that introducing tentative changes and then having to withdraw them because they impacted balance more than anticipated would have been seen as quite acceptable, even enjoyable. I hope for a 2014 with more visible devs! ![]() |

Seems as good a spot as any, and certainly relevant ... this "suits my fancy..."
.. I'd wager my sentiments are shared by a large (very large) segment of Illy ... and not something that should be further ignored . . . A response... any response ... seems warranted . . .

Also, I think talking about the CS with Illyriad Ltd. is against the TOS...

Although certainly disappointed by the slip of broken lands, I can understand the trials and tribulations of project management, technical difficulties... and so forth ...
That being said, I cannot understand, or excuse an utter lack of basic customer relations, failure at any communication about the future of Illy... apparent complete ignoring of other basic game evolution within "old" Illy... simply the disappearance of GM from the face of Illy in contrast to years past... many players have invested considerably in the growth of Illy, for it to be effectively abandoned by its makers (at least it is the impression given to the playerbase) is a rather unwarranted slap in the face to Illy community. How hard would it have been to at least make some minor visible presence on a regular basis, some post ? Maybe a trivial game improvement ? The past and present state of customer relations is good for only one thing... to drive formerly loyal players elsewhere, and leave a rather bitter taste in their mouths . . . .. wake up , the players have invested in the game via prestige and countless hours of playtime ... and deserve better from those behind the curtains that we have seen in the past year . . .
