Topic: confused about tavern Posted: 22 Dec 2013 at 17:56 |

If I complete my quests ... and they finish about the same time, the quests are refreshed at about the same time.
| I know I said this earlier, but again, I don't believe the quests' completion time matters. I think it has to do with when the quest was first offered. Has anyone tried thinking about it that way?

The total failure of a building that is important for everyone who quests. Why is this not getting more attention? Don't people care their quests come 20% slower instead of 20% faster with a lvl 20 tavern?
I am now totally certain this is the case. I watched my quest timers for weeks. The lower the tavern, the quicker new quests come...
| This also very concerns me. I have a new town with a lv 8 tavern and and the rest of my 9 towns have lv 20 taverns and they seem to all get refreshed at the same time no matter what the level. If I complete my quests in my 1st town (lv 20 tavern) and my 9th town (lv 8 tavern) and they finish about the same time, the quests are refreshed at about the same time. I believe this is a huge bug and needs to be addressed asap. As a programmer myself, I don't think this would be hard to fix. But sadly, I think the devs are off working on something else and won't be bothered with our complaining about bugs atm, I mean face it, how many bugs do we complain about and how many have the devs fixed recently? They are all tied up in their new project. But lets complain all the same so that when they are done, maybe they will squash some of them dumb bugs. P.S. I put in a Petition about this already.

I'm sorry for the necro, guys, but I think I can solve Innoble's confusion.

The "time to complete" part should have no effect if both towns say "completed". I complete the level 1 quests in my small town with lvl 8 tavern and in my big town with level 20 tavern at exactly the same time (well... within 10 seconds) and my small town will have new quests about 20 mins to half an hour sooner. | To my understanding, the "rate at which new quests are offered" refers to how often your quests refresh. Instead of looking at what time you completed the quests, Innoble, you should be looking at what time the quests were first offered to each town. I think your smaller town was given the quest much earlier than your larger town, so it refreshed first. Does this help?

It's because you are a min/maxer Inno, and in Illyriad most people aren't (at least not about quests). I applaud you for it though, you always get every last bit of what you're supposed to get from the game, and this is a bug that should be fixed, I agree.

You might be right about that. I think mostly people just don't realize it though. Sometimes people spend days, weeks, or months competing with the guys around them in the rankings. I think those would care, especially if they made an effort to level their taverns. There may be a lot more pressing issues to solve, but this one is quite easy to fix

Honestly I don't think most people care how fast their quests appear. Also, very few people build their tavern over level 2 for any reason other than to boost their population.
I'm not saying that this bug shouldn't be fixed, just addressing the question about why there isn't more outrage over the issue. Many established players don't do quests at all, and those that do probably don't care whether they do 3 quests a day or 4.

I seem to recall a very long time ago, well back in V1, that there was a bug fix that made quests generate quicker for those with a higher lvl tavern rather than take longer as was the case before. It seems, by what you're saying, that this bug has reappeared.

Not to mention that, from a programmers perspective, this is a super easy to fix bug! It won't require more than 5 mins.
Just some line somewhere that says 1 + (tavernlevel/20) has to be 1 - (tavernlevel/20)
