Hello everyone!  We were talking in global chat today about sponsoring a party in a chat client or in Fluffy's forum during the server downtime to celebrate the new server.

I'm setting up this thread as a place for people to talk about the "party."  I'm already planning some party games and have price commitments of gold and advanced resources.

So we need a venue!  Should we hold the party on Facebook? in the forum? on a chat client? Some combination of all of those?

Please leave your ideas and feedback below.

Edited to add: server downtime for upgrade is on Monday 21th November 2011 between 02:00 (UTC or Server time) and 09:00.  This is Sunday evening for us here in the United States.

Info on the new server can be found here:

I vote for Skype seems the most popular client or could do a facebook group but sending invites to all could take quite a while

As I understand, the world will look excatly the same after the downtime. Why not wait and make a migration tourney once the additional continents arrive?

Actually thats precisely how I interpret TC's post Kilo - tho you are right in stating that it wont be added right away.

From the thread: "For those who are interested, Elgea is the name of the main continent of Illyriad - the one that is currently represented on the world map.

This does, of course, imply that other continents will be released over time for further concurrent player capacity increases, and are likely to be linked in some ways via the oceans.  "

woha, seriously?
serves me right for not reading trough it long enough...

now i would really like to see a malevolent and unfriendly community rise on that part of the world..
kinda like a ghetto or some slum where lowlife and aggressive players can get power and stuff..
just my stupid wishful thinking...

Yes but also note that it wont come out for a very long time.

Before the forum explodes with passionate, err, debate on how new servers should be implemented Wink the exact mechanism of how multiple gameworld servers will work is still very much being thought about, but is a very much less pressing issue than increasing our current, concurrent, capacity on the existing server - and becomes even less pressing once we've moved onto Elgea as that will buy us quite some time via the concurrency increase (especially once chat has migrated off the game environment).

Because if the new server is in the US... wouldn't server time be time local to the server's physical location? lol
