Is it totally necessary to obtain permission from the last alliance of the abandoned member before sieging? I have had many many NO answers when trying to get that permission. But then again I have gotten one of my best towns this way from a very kind and helpful Lord Rupert. But does the former alliance have the right of claim on the town when the player is no longer in the alliance? Have there been cases of military action when this permission has not been sought first? Ty.

As someone who's sieged an account up to 6/7 cities and helped others do the same without large alliance aid, I've found it's less about who will let you and more about who will stop you. I've had some very entertaining IGM exchanges over my cheeky city swooping, and scuffles with other vultures a few times. Be bold and pick your targets wisely; many threats or rejections are just hot air.

I have to agree. If you can defend your siege and capture fast there is nothing those alliances can do. Abandoned cities are fair game, many will try and claim them as their own but if that was the case the player would have made them a sitter and not abandoned.
If its in BL and you like the city why not send some of the more active alliances there a message asking if they want to assist you. Hint hint. I know of a few BL alliances who do not care what people say or think about abandoned accounts in their alliances. Inactive accounts also count. |

On the other side, it's about picking targets. YARR! will defend our claims in a military manner, with very little in the way of talking about it. But our respect for the claims of others is pretty well limited to the power of those alliances to enforce their claims.
