I see where mana is coming from and frankly, I think you do too if you stop and think about it. If you worked your butt off at work every day for 15 years and then everyone including the new guy who's been there for 2 days got a raise (of the same amount), you'd probably be pretty angry too.

A few things i would add, since im relatively new to this game, but have some history with other paying games that -believe me- has ppl that put way way way more "work" into it for free. I would happily give my 50 prestige to anyone who feels he/she "deserves" it more than me, but with that thought: Worked your butt off? This is a game, where you have fun. If you do some volunteering work, that is your own thing..noone asked for it, why do you expect getting something in return? Then i would suspect it wasnt that much of a volunteering work rather than you tried to achieve something with it. This 50 prestige is not a raise, since there is no payment whatsoever ingame. And on ther other hand, what would it feel like for new players if only the old ones recieved free prestige? make the gap bigger btw new players and old ones?

I have no problem with everyone getting prestige. Indeed, I think it was a really cool gesture.
I do think it would be a good idea for the devs to think about how they could recognize some of the vets who have contributed so much to Illy for so long.
I say this with the understanding that I am still relatively new to the game and am not one of the vets in question.

I'm saving the T-shirt I get from the meet and greet for you, Mana. Â Thank you for all you've done for Illy. Â There is probably not a player who grew beyond 100 population without reading at least one of your guides, not to mention your work on the mysteries and so many other things.

I fear I did only read his post on the heart of corruption since I did not bother with the forums until my third city.

I do appreciate everyone's feedback on this but please refrain from any further name calling on either side of the discussion.
Thanks

Who would have thought 50 prestige would generate so much debate. Thanks devs, it is appreciated and I accept it in the manner (could've used a play on words but resisted, don't wanna upset the dude any more.Lol. I crack myself up) it was intended, as a gesture of thanks to all players regardless on their perceived contributions.

If I responded to posts by just quoting and adding "+1", I would do it to this post. Honestly, stop acting so childish. If you feel the time you have spent on the game was enjoyable and worthwhile, you should just be happy that you got 50 free prestige.
On a related note, I'm happy I got 50 free prestige. Thanks be to the GMs!

wonderful as ever! 100,000 accounts! i'm happy to think of the numerous new players too who got the gift. every player contributes to the game by being a part of it.
to all those who think that they contributed more - how many times are you counted in that 100,000?
Thank you my Lord King Sigurd!
