Caravan problem

   I went through the tutorial, received a caravan from the king, and thought I created one of my own. The tutorial seemed satisfied, anyway.  When I try to send a caravan out to get resources, the expected menu option does not come up when I click on the resource image on the map. I created another caravan, the progress bar showed that it was making one anyway, but no luck again.
How can I know if I have this caravan?  Where you can see how many caravans you have?

What am I doing wrong?

	Yes, Haggling in research is done. I did find the place in the game that shows I have two caravans.

	Never mind. I turned off everything on the map to see the resources. I thought all those nice little icons of forests and hills and things were resources, but they aren't. Thank you anyway to anyone who read this.
