With the new UI2 update and the lovely article by Beau Hindman, we'd like to welcome the influx of new players to Illyriad.

Warm greetings, new players!
We, the humble members of the Free Defense Union would like to welcome you to our alliance. We are, in effect, a training alliance, dedicated to helping new members grow to become full-fledged and knowledgeable players of Illyriad. Once you have grown to an appropriate size, or at any time of your choosing, we can help you to find and gain entry into an alliance that you would like to be a part of. All you need to do to join FDU, is: #1: Build a Library #2: Research the Diplomacy skill 'Negotiation' #3: Build a Consulate #4: Send a message to Lianosk, Yonder, JCD64, deansieboy, or Leungarific. #4: Accept the Invitation to Join sent to you. We await your inquiries eagerly, and can promise weeks of materialistic (resources, both basic and advanced) support, as well as unlimited access to our sacred library, filled with tomes of Illyriad history, scrolls of information on this land and its people, and scraps of snippets on other players and alliances.
