As Kurfist implies, just follow the link. Detailed description of all current features and even another link to a standalone preview are on the wiki page. The preview is essentially a sort of interactive super-screenshot and should clear things up. It's even possible to interact with the preview in some browsers that don't support userscripts (like Safari on Windows).

I myself followed the link, maybe this will help.
Apply a user-defined default map zoom - In other words, you will choose what your default map zoom is, it may be the farthest out, or completely zoomed in, your call. Chat-alert icon automatically appears when new unread alliance chat messages exist, clicking takes straight to alliance chat - pretty self explanatory, when a new comment appears in your alliance chat, tada notification. |

Hello HM,
For old players (that never used HB) and for new players that may find it useful.
Could you outline the features of the interface? Nothing fancy just a point by point walkthrough of the different features.
Thankyou :)

This probably doesn't concern anyone but myself, but the original UI is being decommissioned tomorrow, so now is the last chance to use HarmlessButler's sync option (along with an account at Arcanum Illyria) to save any data that you'll eventually want in Butler (like town groupings and sort order, city tags, etc.). Given the lack of overall interest and the slow, incremental progress the new Butler will be taking, I won't be making an importer for old HB data. But I will make the raw data accessible so that it can at least be manually copied to Butler as Butler adds support for the various features.
Also, please direct all feature requests, feedback, bug reports, and troubleshooting discussions to Butler's talk page on the wiki: http://illyriad.honoredsoft.com/wiki/Tool_talk:Butler. |

I have been literally inundated with--a request--for HarmlessButler 2.0.
![]() More seriously, I do know that many people are rather eagerly anticipating it, and get a lot of requests for status updates from my alliance mates especially. Well the truth is that the HarmlessButler we knew back from UI1 is still a long way off in terms of features and account management. But I also have gotten quite a lot of infrastructure in place and the features are starting to come together. What I have is definitely at this point good enough to be worth sharing now. The initial release is being called a "preview alpha," but not because it is unstable or nonfunctional...it is mostly an assessment of the script's feature completeness. Before I continue, however, a word about its name. HarmlessButler was originally released for Harmless, and later shared with everyone. This time around, everyone can partake from the beginning, and so--while deeply appreciating the support and encouragement of my alliance--I am dropping "Harmless" from the name. It is also not "2.0" but rather a whole new system, and since it is starting at a much less feature-complete state, the version really ought to start back on the ground floor. Nevertheless, it is drastically more advanced under the hood, and much more capable than HarmlessButler could have been--but to the degree of being revolutionary rather than evolutionary, much like UI2 was over UI1. And so with these factors in mind, I'm proud to offer the first preview alpha release of: Butler Butler strives to support as many browsers as possible, using whatever means are necessary (within reason). It is even possible to interact with a partially-functional example on a preview page before ever installing it. See the linked page for more details on this and installation links as well as more information on its current features and capabilities. Enjoy! |
