Lol I like the name of that band. Pregnant Whale Pain. Yeah, the song is definitely not my sort of thing, but I actually kind of enjoyed it. Up until the last 30 seconds, no idea what happened there. But otherwise I think it was a pretty nice song.

I have to use your thread to suggest what is one of the best rock/metal bands to arrive on the scene.  I believe this band will have a major impact on the future of music.  if you enjoy some Alice in Chains, Soundgarden, etc. this is a band that is super heavy but with intricate harmonies.

Wednesday! Halfway through the week, we're getting close to the weekend!
Todays pick is one that probably a lot of people are going to disapprove of. I know that not a lot of you guys aren't big fans of rap/hip-hop. All I ask is that you give it a chance :)

Kanye West- Gorgeous (EXPLICIT)
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nB7BC1w3jRU

I'm by no means a Kanye fan. I am though, a huge fan of rap/hip-hop. Lyrically, this song is incredible. It flows, it's meaningful, it has clever wordplay and double-meaning. The chorus is kind of weak, granted (never really liked Cudi), but besides that, this song is incredible. And even beyond the song, this album (My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy) changed the entire rap game. A lot of people like to hate on Kanye, I do too. His new music really sucks, and he's real easy to make fun of because of the way he puts himself out there to the media. But I think that once it all dies down, he's going to be recognized for some of his work, especially this song.

Agree to disagree, say what you want about this song or even Kanye below. Give me feedback :)

Hey guys! I know, it's Tuesday, but this is well overdue anyways. I've caught some nasty bug, and I'm just now recovering. So to pick up the slack, we're going to have two days straight of picks!

Todays pick is Nina Simone- Sinnerman
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Bn5tiuZU4JI

This one was submitted by Hyrdmoth, on the topic of songs to drive to. I even put this to the test last Thursday on a regrettably long drive to LA. I honestly don't understand a word she says, but the song itself is catchy as hell, and it's very fast paced. It does go really well with a commute home or a road trip. It's also really long, which makes it perfect for a driving playlist. A lot of the time, 3 minutes isn't enough and songs will be over before you even realize. But with this song being 10 minutes, you don't really have that problem.

What do you guys think? Let's get some feedback :)

I do like the bass riff. I don't think you have to choose things that most people will like. It might even be interesting to choose things that some people won't like.

It's Wednesday, so it's time for a new pick!
I'm finding that choosing a song is actually quite difficult, because you really have to put away your own bias to find something that everyone is going to like, or at least not everybody is going to hate. Hopefully I did alright this time, I know some people didn't fancy my last pick too much.

Today we have Foster the People - Pumped Up Kicks
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SDTZ7iX4vTQ

This is actually a real nice song to listen to. It really happy and calming, something you'd listen to while driving down the interstate late at night, or in the bath relaxing after work. It has a pretty awesome bass rift, the vocals sound nice, and it's catchy as all hell. It's a chill and peaceful song until you actually hear what this guy's singing about. What I'm trying to say is that it's a song that gives off some real nice vibes, and is fun to listen to, but it's actually a really messed up a song if you give it a good listen.

Oh, and the music video literally has nothing to do with the song, which is oddly amusing.

What do you guys think? Did I do an alright job? You like the song? Talk about it!
