	The main cost of basic resources and food is the "carrying cost" of caravans. The relevant limited resource in the cases of these relatively abundant resources is caravan carrying time.

	Warehouse storage space (in a city) is another relevant cost, although that cost is not relevant in hubs since storage is unlimited. I have sometimes considered attempting to calculate a "freight" cost for Illy based on price differentials for basic resources in hubs (where the buyer provides transportation) vs. city to city (where the seller provides transportation. The calculation could also be based on relatively more "distant" cities (compared to the location of food buyers) vs. "closer" cities. Would be somewhat complex math and I've been too lazy to try it, but I bet it could even get someone published, although I doubt a Nobel in economics would be merited.
