It's not something we'd considered, Dogbert.

However it's not a bad idea at all.

How would people feel about such an option?

I feel you should be allowed to reset a commander and then re-adjust his stats but set a time limit for it, i.e once you have changed it you cant do it for 2/3 weeks this would allow for re-training time from an offensive/defensive  commander.

I saw it discussed in another forum, but essentially it would be a great idea (for me at least) because it is easy to make a mistake when levelling up a commander; i don't know yet what will be the best way, or how will i use him better in the future.

it's just too obscure right now to let me know where to guide his levelling.

right now, for example it seems useless to invest in magic resistance, but what about tomorrow?

of course it should be limited, or else i would keep managing my bonus on the spot, it doesn't seem right. one way of limitation is a cooldown, as it was said, or an EXP price: that way you only reset your commander when you understand you made a mistake; and not to adapt yourself to a situation.

in case you screwed up: this is different, i just misclicked.
for that it  would be nice to have  the posibility to undo 1 or 2 levels. of course it's hard to control and such. another one that seem VEEERY dangerous is to be able to undo the leveling until the commander is used in any possible action

I like the idea because as the game evolves, we will all wish we did things a different way, but were just working with what we had at the time.  For example, there will soon be additional building which we may regret we didn't save space for.  Fortunately we have the demolition tech for that.  We need a "demolition tech" for other parts of the game such as commanders.

So quick newbie question.  I am dwarven.  I have a Halbardier commander at Level 10.  I have halbardier units under his command.  Since their speed is the slowest of any Dwarven unit, I naturally leveled up the DIVISIONAL speed to 35%, but have seen NO change in the speed of my units (faster, that is).  My calculation--which must clearly be wrong--is that 35% of 6 is 2.1.  Shouldn't my units be moving 2.1 hexes/hr faster than before?  I know there is a flaw in my logic somewhere, so please someone help me out!

Real bottom line question is this:  How do I make my units move faster?

Regards!

They should.

The units must be in the same unit of the commander who speeds. Maybe you have more divisions in your army.  The speed of your army is the slowest of all divisions.

I do have more divisions, but they all travel faster than the division with the commander that speeds.

Thoughts?

@Gandalf the White : the commanded speed should be for practical purposes the slowest speed of troops in the army (commander's base unit type speed included), but the commander should also be getting his own division's speed bonus.

So a single halbardier division with a halbardier commander alone in an army should always move at least as fast as an un-lead halbardier division PLUS any commander speed bonuses... but only as long as all troops are in the division lead by the commander with the speed bonus.
