Topic: Best units for commanders Posted: 29 Jun 2010 at 01:43 |
i've been thinking for 6 months now under a waterfall and arrived into the conclusion that the bet commanders are advanced cavalry, with no exception
am i right or am i drowning?

Not necissarly. If you have a defensive commander a advanced archer is going to start off with better defensive stats. I also have a t1 cavalary commander that has an army of just t1 cavs because they're faster than the t2 cavs, so having a t2 commander would slow them down. But for the most part I think you're right.

ok; so there are some "exceptions", it could even be more; i guess that if your commander attack is very important to you and the type of attack also is, an infantry commander would be different form a cav.
but i'm not sure if that "advantage" is enough against the other stats in a t2 cav, that are so much higher.

another thing: im a dwarf. so, my best unit is the t2 infantry, the stalwart. the stats of this guy are in all cases lower than the runerider, which is the weakest cav unit to be found...
of course stalwarts could be considered cheaper, but thats not the point:
isnt it weird that for a commander i should i use a runerider (worst cav) instead of a Stalwart (best infantry)?
no?
it must be the water

Doesn't terrain and enemy type matter as well, however?
And for raiding commanders I prefer t1 cavalry due to their higher move speed.
Does anyone know if squad boost also effects the commanders own stats?

If you were only ever to use your commanders in attack on plains terrain then you would be correct. In other situations other units are better, including stalwarts

yes, because of the type of the attack... however, the leveling up of defensive and offensive stats is much higher as i could gather... it seems tricky
