Thanks everyone - special thanks to Crank, Zangi and Noryasha for organising, devs for adding the Tournament code and the other competitors for making it fun to play.

Just remember kids - it's not the size of the army that counts - it's what you do with it ;)

Most people will tell you that France is pretty large.
But you can put 14 Frances into this land of ours.
(It'd take a whole lot of work.)

Can you confirm Amorphias won, and let us know who occupied the square the second and third longest?
I'm guessing Gods and Smoking or Duuvian?

Optional statistics keeping would be cool in the official version, where at the start you click check boxes to record which statistics should be recorded and whether they are public or sent to the organizer as a private message. That way army sizes could be kept secret yet still monitored; but whatever statistic wins the tournament can be kept track of publicly whether it's experience gained, a time limit, or occupation. I think a Commander Exp earned - Commander Exp given out competition would be a neat tournament to watch, especially if there was a leaderboard/scoreboard, although there might have to be separate but equal prizes for the person holding the square the longest and for the one holding at the end to encourage different strategies.

Good job and thanks to you and your team, SC.

The battlefield is a scene of constant chaos. The winner will be the one who controls that chaos, both his own and the enemies.

Hi all,

I can confirm that Amorphias has won the Tournament, being in continuous possession of the flag location from 2010-11-14 13:24:18.320 to 2010-11-16 17:49:31.217 (when his forces were recalled by messenger).

Many congratulations to Amorphias Clap

A history of the square's occupation is as follows:

duuvian        2010-11-09 15:43:00.000 to 2010-11-10 16:09:52.773
Amorphias    2010-11-10 16:14:03.080 to 2010-11-10 20:41:26.007
G0DsDestroyer     2010-11-10 20:41:25.993 to 2010-11-12 13:30:02.927
duuvian    2010-11-12 16:20:16.397 to 2010-11-12 18:30:16.397
hypocritical    2010-11-13 00:14:36.077 to 2010-11-13 05:36:10.350
G0DsDestroyer    2010-11-13 05:36:10.350 to 2010-11-13 05:46:33.457
Smoking GNU     2010-11-13 05:46:33.457 to 2010-11-13 13:51:20.927
duuvian        2010-11-13 13:51:20.927 to 2010-11-13 23:51:02.920
Amorphias    2010-11-14 13:24:18.320 to 2010-11-16 17:49:31.217 (recalled)

Ranking players in terms of the longest uninterrupted occupation, the results are as follows:

1. Amorphias: 48hrs
2. G0DsDestroyer: 40hrs, 48m
3. duuvian: 24hrs, 26m
4. Smoking Gnu: 8hrs, 4m
5. hypocritical: 5hrs, 21m

Thanks to all the participants, and especially to Noryasha for organising this first tournament - hopefully the first of many player-run events!

Regards,

SC
