I rarely have to travel more than 5 squares from my Tamarin cities to kill something.  So maybe the animals just don't like orcs.

Rill I have one city in Tamarin and I must conclude that wildlife there is not abundant. In fact it's pretty scarce. In my other cities in Mal Motsha I rarely have to travel 5 squares away from town to kill something. I consider 10 squares for hunting a long distance. Perhaps wildlife in Tamarin is over hunted? Or perhaps Tamarin climate just isn't very good for wildlife. Or my personal favorite hypothesis: There are many Eagles and Crows in Tamarin. Those birds are predators to small wildlife like rats. Perhaps animals just moved elsewhere. This hypothesis does not explain why there are no elementals in Tamarin, but perhaps elementals fear some birds too.

I think the disparity adds to the map rather than detracting from it... Just like on Earth, certain areas are luckier than others in terms of natural resources. And I, for one, think that is a very good thing. If everyone had everything, there would be little need for trade and a monotonous sameness to Elgea that, imo, would be really boring!

There are other places just like that. Why there are whole big islands which has no single herb, no single mine, neither common nor rare. Animals visit the island once in a week or so (the anacondas have to come a long distance floating over the ocean)

But it is not all bad. You get to focus your town on more useful stuff than crafting.

For example, is it worth to keep a herbalist building only to gather a furzion seedpod daily? Probably not. That way you are better off without a furzion seedpod near you. After the first excitement, I stopped gathering herbs ..in one of my cities with two herbalists and several rare herbs nearby.

I find it wonderful that the crafting release made the map more alive without disturbing the balance of the game.

I was wondering how many people are in barren crafting res areas?

In one of my areas the only abundant crafting res are H1 herbs that can be harvested by cotters.

NO rare herb tiles.

NO M1  tiles.  NO mines.

very few NPCs and the ones that do exists are small.

We even went 2 weeks without attacking the NPCs in that area with no noticeable increase.

I checked quite a few other areas and none seem to be as barren as ours. Even in the Wastes there are at least Ice Heart mines.

So are we the only area like that? Do other people have the same issue?

If just a few, did the Devs do it on purpose to punish me for deeds in my past life?
