Lieo, excellent idea!  However, this is an idea the devs have already had.  The friends list is merely a first step in moving toward a chat rehaul.

Hi all I have a idea for the next update. The idea is when you have a main alliance and then greate a branch alliance they should be able to chat in the one chat at the same time. Both alliances should agree on doing it.
