Hey all,

Here are a few suggestions I have regarding alliances. Feel free to comment!

********************
  1. Alliance War Reports - I know there has been talk about this but it would be VERY handy. To be able to look at war reports and know when an alliance member is attacking, being attacked, etc. Basically, when the alliance person knows, the rest of the alliance knows. Its part of why we form alliances. To me, this is one of the biggest priorities there are.  This should include both our attacks and the results as well as incoming attacks. The entire alliance should see the same info (like the number of troops attacking, the number of survivors, etc).
  2. Alliance Button Menu - when someone posts in the forum, a change to the button menu somehow to alert someone posted something would be cool.
  3. Alliance tab sorting
When you look at the alliance tab, it would be nice if you could sort the alliances you are involved with. I would suggest something like:
            i) Those alliances at WAR (and to be a different color on this screen would make it easier to spot them)
ii) Those alliances in confederation (and them a different color as well)
          iii) Those alliances in NAP
          iv) Those in other categories
          v) all sorted alphabetically within their groups.
  4. This may be a bug - but if you are at war with an alliance and the alliance disbands, their name in your alliance list of being at war stays. The alliance "Brothers in Battle, - BIB" listed under our alliance as at war (and we tried to go peace with them) was disbanded. But the name stays. It would be nice if that got cleaned up when they were disbanded.
  5. Forum Editing - As the admin of our alliance forums, I cant seem to figure out how to delete messages, rename forums or delete forums, etc. The only thing I can find to do is the ability to add new ones and give access to certain forums. Admin ability is nice (if it exists, SOMEONE please tell me how). :)
  6. Alliance Joining or Leaving (this may not be needed with alliance tracking now)-
    a) When someone joins the alliance, a mail message to everyone welcoming the new member would be nice. It would be REALLY cool if the leaders of the alliance could customize the message (like in a default screen) that goes out.
     b) When someone leaves, at least a message to the leader telling them that "Player <player name here> has left the alliance".
  7. Internal Alliance Trading - I love the marketplace. I would love to see some additions.. this is JUST for alliances, not confederations.:
    a) Internally, let alliance members have a "private market" If I have extra plate armor, I could post it and what I want (including nothing if I want to give it away). And let just them have access to it.
    b) Maybe an added bonus to encourage trading is internal trading only uses 1/2 the caravans and they travel twice as fast..
    c) I was thinking it would be nice to have the ability for people to send caravans to pick stuff up... For instance, if I had 20 caravans free and Beau, in my alliance, didn't have any currently but wanted to give me some resources, I could go pick them up. For this feature, I would suggest that you make it so it TAKES TWICE as many caravans and they MOVE TWICE as SLOW to discourage this... though it still could be useful.
  8. Alliance tax system
    a) I can see many good uses for this but I dont think its fully implimented. I would like to see the ability for us to set who can "withdraw" from the alliance coffers and let people contribute to the coffers as they want to share the wealth with others. If people abused it, their privlidge could be removed by the leader. But everyone you set should be able to add or withdraw from the alliance coffers.
     b) This brings up another suggestion (though it could eliminate the need for my suggestions #7 above). What about a "community warehouse" where alliance members could add stuff to (I have 500 extra swords, so I put them in our community warehouse - that would have the security of a VAULT so things couldnt be stolen). There would need to be a limit, like the vault, but it would allow for easy sharing of goods between alliance members (NOT NAP or Confederations). This would especially be useful for items (not resources - I think though should be traded and sent to each other, etc). But Food, Gold, Swords, Cows, Armor, Spears, Books, etc would all be useful.
  9. Delete "Ranks" - If I create a rank for a person in the alliance, there is no way to delete it if its no longer needed.
  10. "Longer than 5d" - right now, if a person is inactive for over 5days, it always states that. having the system tell longer would be helpful (ie, more than 5days, more than 14 days, more than 30 days, more than 60days, etc). It would make it much easier for determining who to kick out if needed to.

Go ahead and comment!  Thanks all.

I like all these ideas pretty well, but unless I misunderstand you, suggestion 7a is already implemented.  You can set permissions to deposit or withdraw (maybe it's just withdraw only) when creating an alliance role.

To my knowledge, it ONLY works by the capital city of the alliance. Even if I set someone else to have the access, they cant withdraw any funds. But I know the intent is there. :)
