Check off the "Mail Entire Alliance" box and also post it on the chat, you can get immediate feedback and everyone has a copy to read at their leisure when they get online

I know there is a lag in updating the Online status of alliance members, but I haven't noticed it last 2 hours.  Usually under 30 min.
 
Also, some players leave the game open in a browser window while they do other things.  So they are technically online, but they are not actually looking at the screen.
 
Also, not every alliance member that is online will also be on Alliance Chat.
 
I recommend using a Forum for Alliance communications.  I prefer the extrenal forum sites that are free instead of the in-game alliance forums.  Otherwise, use Alliance mail for important alliance-wide communications.

If they don't respond on Alliance chat then they're not there. Good way to have it, it's also nice when all active members use alliance chat, helps out with communication.

Hey guys,
 
 
   I've noticed that even if my alliance home page states a member is online, that member will actually be offline.  I proved this theroy by having my account log out and go on to a friends account. it stated my account was still logged on for a full 2 hours " logged on and off with my friend account in a 2 hour duration".
 
I appreciate the pretty city graphics, but can the designers fix this bug?  Some of you might not find it major but when I am filling out a lengthy report and see that everyone is online and just decide to say it on alliance chat only to find out only like three people are online I tend to get VERY annoyed.
