So, I've been playing for several years, and I have noticed that our alliance forum isn't as useful as it once was.

Part of the problem is that the year of the post doesn't show when you are browsing through posts.  This would be extremely valuable, as our posts go way back to 2010.

It would also be valuable to search through the alliance forum for things I know we discussed some years back but can't find today.

But the big problem is this:  I tried to create a new forum so our alliance could actually discuss how to better organize our forum. . . (don't tease me bro). . . and I can't create a new thread.  Could this be because we've maxed out the number of threads?  Or is this a bug?

I'm curious how other alliances use their forums and if the developers have any plans to improve this useful communications tool.

Thanks!
Neytiri

I agree with the date issue.

I hope you filed a petition about your new thread issue. I don't think that is working as intended (assuming you have the correct alliance priviledges). I've seen quite a few threads in an alliance forum. Out of curiousity, how many does yours have?

Some Alliances have opted to use off-site Forums. I realize there are both good and bad possibilities with such a choice, but those that have them say they provide more possibilities, and more flexibility for use by the members/leadership. One of several important factors to consider is that such Forums can be labor intensive, and should have a qualified and dedicated team of members (not necessarily only, or even any leaders besides admin access by the Alliance Leader for security purposes) to make such an activity successful. I know personally of no such limits on Illy forums, either thread or members.
