Upgrading or downgrading the Runemasters Grounding building, however, do definitely require a Rune recast to take effect. This is because Rune charges may have been depleted in the meantime, and we don't want to allow insta-completes of Runemasters Ground upgrades as a way of instantly recharging Runes, and thereby bypassing the expiration cooldown. |

I had not seen that post. Thanks Torn Sky.

Erik, I think the runemaster's retreat is just a percentage bonus to the existing charges. If you have 90 charges left and a level 10 runemaster, it would kill 135 (90+45) enemies before dissipating. It will not reflect any change in total charges left. This is just my guess, I could be wrong.

ummm.. you still should change the runemasters retreat, perhaps make it so that upgrading the building has no effect, however downgrading the retreat disgruntles your mages and the spell auto cancels

You forget that you get half for "free" its the 8% more bonus that cost.
I agree that the cost might be worth it if you cast 10 spells but seriously that is a very limited use of a building.

yea so 800-1100 per town
5 casts would be 4k-5500 14 casts would be 11k-15400 still not that bad of a deal imo

A lvl 20 mage tower makes 2026 mana/hr -300/hr building upkeep thats still 1700/hr (guestimating lvl 20) Natures bounty costs 115/hr so you can have 14 spells thats 22,554-31570 extra food possible or 11k-15.75k if it doubles spell upkeep also
so yea it might be worth it to sacrifice 1 town to boost your towns and maybe a few neighbors but thats your choice
these numbers assume you have 0 tax and all buildings involved are lvl 20

GEOMANCERS RETREAT:

Can this really be right ?
I have this building at level 18:
The cost:

 |
 |
 |
|
|
|
|---|
| 595 p/h |
1955 p/h |
1275 p/h |
364 p/h |
187 p/h |
|
|---|
I have it in a "central city and have 5 nature bounties running on 5 5 food plots cities: This will give me 3425 more food for the cost of approx 3800 basic resources 364 food and 187 mana ?
Any opinions if this is worth it ?
I think the cost seem to high.

For people with scattered cities, it is around +800 food (with 5 food tiles) in exchange of the same cost (which includes food again). A second Geomancer will consume more food than it would boost.
The plus side is that you can cast the spells on multiple cities. But to cast it on too many cities, you will need to keep your tax rate low to have enough mana generation. But then if you are to compensate on tax, you might not need too much food. I'd call it a Thunder-Storm quagmire!
