If your screen is big enough, there's extra real estate to the right of the event/unit boxes that the chats fit nicely into :) I only have problems from my phone cause you can't move the chat boxes around, but oh well, its a phone, not a computer. can't complain

well you sort of can tell if your units are allready built with the "units present in town" box below the next event box...
unless you , like me, put the chat box on top of it. I like the ingame chat, but it's so hard to put it somewhere where it isn't in the way...

I think adding the current que of military and diplomatic units to the Next Events column under the current research and build ques would be very helpful, especially when you are looking through multiple cities and having to open up your barracks then click production tab then the same process for the consulate rinse repeat in every city
idk if this was already in the works for the new UI but if not its something to consider
