   I have noticed that if someone make add friend request, you will get a in-game UI pop-up notification. But if you miss that you will have no indication that someone did a request until you browse the Friends management page.

I would suggest that a new/unread counter balloon thingy be added for friend request like we have for in-game mails and event notifications.

Or...

Handle add friend request via in-game mail like its done for alliance invitation.
