Continued developments from the Ministry of Mildly Related Things! More from this new, unreleased feature that's taking far too long to implement, the same area where the real-time combat feed and the Player and Town Growth Graphs have come from. It's contextual chat info and it comes in two varieties! Mentions By default we select the normal and lower case versions of your name (or just lower case if its all lowercase) to act as the items that trigger chat lines to highlight: ![]() However you can completely customize what highlights chat, if you have some nicknames or other terms you want to highlight; or you can completely remove them altogether. You access this via the Character Name page of Account & Preferences: At the bottom you will see "Chat Highlighting Terms" where you can add and remove items: As you can see above there is GM Rikoo in upper and lower case; but for this example I have also added GM in three varieties. The blue arrows point to spaces so rather than just highlighting when the letters GM are used anywhere in a word (though unlikely), it will only highlight when preceded by, followed by or has a space at the start and end - which may help with initials. Also circled in red are the terms gold and orc, so these will also trigger the highlight. A use for this may be your alliance ticker so it will highlight when your alliance is mentioned. The selected terms are per device/user (user+browser+computer) not per account so if you log into your alt or sitter swap you will have the same list and they won't have your list. Alliance Relationship Highlighting The other type of chat highlighting is a color indicator at the start of the chat line if you are in an alliance and your alliance has a diplomatic relationship with that player's alliance. This will show NAP, Confed and War indicators as below: ![]() Other Tweaks
We hope you enjoy these enhancements! Leave any comments or questions below! GM Rikoo
