Please correct me if I am wrong, but I believe under the current research you can only equip a division of:
200 spears, or 150 infantry, or 100 ranged, or 60 cavs
Now multiply that by 5 divisions in one army
1,000 spears 750 infantry 500 ranged 300 cavs
And one city has 5 armies
5K spears 3,750 infantry 2,500 ranged 1,500 cavs
So with 10 cities the most you could equip is 50K spears (great for an orc) 37,500 infantry (fair for a dwarf) 25K ranged (so so for an elf, unless they meet 200K trueshots) 15K cavs (so what for a human)
Am I missing something, or does this whole gathering and crafting thing really really suck from a PvP standpoint? I only ask to re-allign my paradigms. |
I think you can equip more than that.
Those techs appear to me to be apply doubling bonuses up to those troop counts per division. Larger divisions equipped with crafted goods will not have double craft bonuses applied - but they will still get the normal craft goods bonuses.

What will the price on Vanguard PlateArmor be? My guess is it will never go below 5 K a piece.

If a single player can make enough equipment to equip 10k troops in 150 days, then 150 players should be able to make enough equipment to equip 10k soldiers in 1 day.
Even if you only have 50 players solely making equipment so they can sell it you'll be able to buy up enough equipment for to re-equip your 10k troops every week or 2. Assuming you have enough gold.
Apart from the very special stuff I'm making for my commanders and the small amount of hunting equipment for my hunting troops, I'm making large amounts of equipment for the simple purpose of selling it. I'm sure there are many others who (will) do this as well.
In all likelihood if you have enough gold to support 50k Stalwarts you'll be able to buy replacement equipment every other month.

Umm in 125-150 days I should have around 9k-10k equipment for my all cavalry city. That includes 9-10k vanguard chainmail armor, 9-10k elf horses, and 9-10k war spears.
I just don't see how you came up with 730 days. |
How many cities have you producing the new equipment? And how will you replace the men when they are killed ?
The new specialized crafting stops the production of the plate, chain, swords, horses and spears.

Sure, after 2 years of crafting and save all those crafted weapons, someone will able to equip 20-30K of his soldiers with crafted weapons. He will then use them for an attack, those soldiers died with those valuable crafted weapons and he will craft again for another 2 years..
Unless devs reduce time to craft and increase amount of minerals that can be mined significantly, I have to say those fancy crafted weapons are useless. |

Make it your ambition to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business and to work with your hands, so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders and so you will not be dependent on anybody.
